Empower the people who teach.
We recognise educators and students who use AI to address real learning challenges. By sharing their projects and the thinking behind them, we help other teachers explore what responsible AI can mean in their own classrooms.
Our vision
More inclusive, personal and effective learning.
Technology should serve education. We want to build an international community where educators learn from one another, make thoughtful choices about AI and turn promising ideas into meaningful learning experiences.
The people putting AI into practice
From ideas to practice in K–12 education.
The AI for Education Awards focus on K–12 education, from kindergarten through secondary school. We recognise teachers, students and organisations that train and support teachers — the people who bring AI into everyday teaching and learning.
There is no shortage of AI tools, policies, visions and ideas. Concrete examples show how to put them into practice: what you can do with AI, how to approach it responsibly and what others can learn from your experience.
Our three award categories put these educational practices in the spotlight.

Brussels · A 40u40 project initiative
Where the story began
The AI for Education Awards started in Brussels as a project initiative within Belgium’s 40 under 40 (40u40), brought to life by Lieselot Declercq, Steven Ronsijn, Anicet Touré, Nassim Benoussiad and Louis Wouters.
From that shared starting point, AI4EDU grew into an international initiative: recognising educational practice, connecting educators and sharing ideas through the Empowerment Programme.
