The Educator Empowerment category of the AI for Education Awards 2024 recognises projects and programs that aim to empower educators with AI literacy and competency. Entries for this award should demonstrate how they support educators and school leaders in adopting AI solutions for improving teaching methods and/or administrative processes.

Evaluation criteria

In evaluating the submissions, the jury considers the following criteria. Feel free to underline in your application those different factors if they apply to your submission.

  • How does the project assess the prior knowledge, barriers, and confidence of educators in using AI?
  • How does the project provide differentiated and personalised learning opportunities for educators based on their needs and goals?
  • How does the project model the effective use of AI in professional development?
  • How does the project engage with various stakeholders and build a learning community of educators?
  • How does the project identify and involve relevant stakeholders in the design, implementation, and evaluation of the project?
  • How does the project foster communication, collaboration, and co-creation among educators and other stakeholders?
  • How does the project measure the quality and impact of the collaboration and partnership?
  • How does the project align with and enhance the current educational context and practice?
  • How does the project align with the curriculum, standards, and policies of the educational system?
  • How does the project support the pedagogical, instructional, and assessment strategies of educators and school leaders?

  • What are the resources, partnerships, and strategies required for the implementation and maintenance of the AI initiative over time?

We are delighted that you want to share your project with us! Here are some tips to help you with the application process.

Some information has to be entered directly on this website. You also need to upload your detailed project description (mandatory) and any additional information (optional). You can also upload your organisation’s logo (optional).

Please make sure that you prepare all the documents carefully and upload them all at once.

In order to cater to an international jury, we ask participants to upload the Project Description in English and recommend the use of AI tools to translate if necessary. we allow for non-English supporting materials.

Deliver as much concrete evidence as possible to demonstrate how your project meets the judging criteria.
